The six-mile trail around Lake Union is named “Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop” in honor of a late 1800s Duwamish chief. His name, Cheshiahud, is pronounced [CHES-ee-uh-hood]. Read more about this important Seattle figure here.

Race Day Schedule
6:00am - Registration and packet pickup opens
7:00am - Westlake Ave N closes to vehicles
7:25am - Start line raffle prizes
7:30am - 10K run and walk starts
8:00am - Portage Bay Cafe breakfast opens!
8:30am - Awards
Start Time Runners and Walkers: 7:30 am (Start line is at Westlake Ave. N.). The two Northbound lanes will be closed until all runners and walkers reach the Fremont Bridge and proceed onto the sidewalk. Racers will be started according to their pace per mile.
Strollers are allowed, but must start last, at the back of the pack.
Sorry, no dogs. Unfortunately our insurance no longer allows dogs to participate in the Lake Union 10K.

Packet Pickup Information:
Saturday August 12th: at 5focus from 12 noon-6 p.m. 925 8th Avenue North, Seattle. Directions here.
Sunday August 13th: at event registration booth, Lake Union Park from 6.00-7.00 a.m.
Park north and south of race start in off street parking and side streets behind Courtyard Marriott Hotel. No participant parking in the Lake Union Park lot. Please visit map here for additional information.
Awards will be awarded to the overall top three women and top three men, plus Grand Master and Master Female and Male. Ribbons and Lake Union 10K coffee mugs awarded to the top runner in each age group: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30- 34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
All participants will receive a technical fabric race shirt (male & female styles).
Registrations after July 24th will not be guaranteed t-shirt size.
T-shirts will not be mailed. They must be picked up on the event weekend or during 5focus business hours before August 31st.
Lake Union 10K Aid Stations:
At 2 & 4 miles. Each station will have water, Nuun hydration drink and porta-potties.
Post Race Food:
French Toast and Breakfast Bar provided by Portage Bay Cafe. We apologize this breakfast is not gluten-free. The 10K does offer simple gluten free options at the Run for Good tent.
