RACE INFORMATION

  • The six-mile trail around Lake Union is named “Cheshiahud Lake Union Loop” in honor of a Duwamish chief, who in the late 1800s guided settlers in his canoe to Lake Union. The name, Cheshiahud, is pronounced CHES-ee-uh-hood.

    RACE LIMITED TO 1500 RUNNERS & WALKERS

    Distance: 6.21miles/10K

    Start Time Runners: 7:30 am

    Start Time Walkers: 7:20 am (walkers have their own dedicated start line).

    Location: Lake Union Park.

    Packet Pickup Information:

    • Saturday, August 18 at 5focus, noon - 6:00 pm. 
    • Sunday, August 19 at race start, 5:30 am - 7:00 am.

    Parking: Park north of race start in off street parking, side streets behind Courtyard Mariott Hotel or take the South Lake Union Trolley.

    Awards: Plaques will be awarded to the overall top three women and top three men plus Grand Master and Master Female and Male. Ribbons awarded to the top three runners in each age group: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30- 34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69,70-74, 75+

    Barefoot Awards: Fastest Male & Female barefooters. Must register as a barefoot runner before race start at registration tent.

    Barefoot WineCategories are barefoot, 5fingers or huaraches. Winners receive a bottle of Barefoot Wine.

    Corporate Challenge: Minimum of six from each company registering. Top 4 fastest times count towards award. Also, award for most members. click here for flyer.

    T-Shirts: All participants will receive a technical fabric race shirt (male & female styles).

    Aid Stations: At 2 & 4 miles. Each station will have water, hydration drinks, energy Gels and porta-potties.

    Post Race Food: Gourmet Pancake Breakfast provided by Portage Bay Cafe,  fruit & breads.

    NO race day registration. Strollers are allowed but must start at back of pack. Dogs are allowed but owners must start at back of pack. Please read the FAQ for all race details and rules.
